- If devs can't show love for AOM, here is at least my attempt. I have been working hard recently on an exciting new map called Gladiator Worlds. Pick one of 8 different heroes with lots of skills. Packed with randomly generated world areas, lots of unique enemies and bosses, and lots of ways to play!

| Found some cut voicelines, but can't decipher them Posted: 11 Apr 2021 10:52 AM PDT While I was going through the sound files of Age Of Mythology, I found some cut content. Not Earth-shattering, but still really cool to find this, and in particular, there were multiple voicelines linked to specific actions that ended up cut from the final game. First off : you need to know the naming convention of the audiofiles. The first letter (a/c/e/g/n) determins the civilisation, the second, the unit, like V for villager. For villagers, a new letter is used, f or m, for the villager's gender. (Also, Dwarves are, of course, under the unit letter D, but, strangely, under the civilization letter "V", likely for "Viking" instead of "Norse", which means their voiceline names start with "vd" instead of "nd" and are at the very end of the audiotrack because of that. Why is that, I don't know. It just is, somehow ?) Then comes the action. I have, as of now, found 12 actions relating to the villagers : A for Attacking, Fo for Food-gathering, H for Hunting, L for Lumbering, M for Mining, M (followed by a number from 1 to 4) for Moving, and S (followed by a number from 1 to 4) for Selecting. But there are 5 new letters, B, Fa, Fi, P and R, that I have never heard before. Using the Greek Villager sounfiles, because they are the easiest to hear distinctively and search results online, I have more or less translated these : B : τέκτων (tékton) "carpenter", possibly for building Fa : γεοργιοσς (georgios) "farmer", quite obviously for farming Fi : αλιεία ? (alieía) it doesn't sound exactly like it, but it says "fisher", and, as fishing was a cut action for villagers to gather fish near the shore, I think it's pleausible it would mean just that This is where it gets difficult. Ironically, I had little to no problem understanding P and R, but the definition of the words just... don't make any sense ! P : ταπεινός (tapeinós) which... means "Humble" ? "Lowly", "Menial" ?? This doesn't make any sense. Considering it is apparently only for Greek villagers, under the letter P, and meaning "humble", I'd say it's for Praying ? I don't know for sure. R : εργάτης (ergátis) which means "worker", "laborer"... but... what action could it relate to ? I thought maybe stonemining, but the letter doesn't match, the word doesn't really as well, and apparently, the Norse don't have this soundfile. What on earth could this one possibly mean ?? I've tried to listen to the Egyptian version, which sounded like "hemet", which google says means "wife". Don't tell me the R stands for Reproduction. Don't ruin my childhood, cut content. Also this would imply Norsemen don't reproduce. Do you think you have an idea of what these last two might mean ? This isn't urgent by any mean, I'm just doing this for fun and to understand what each command means (especially Atlantean since it's a conlang) by comparing each other, but these last ones are killing me ! I only reference the YouTube piece because I will be recording it and want to ensure whoever I play with is comfortable with that. Ultimately, I'm just looking for some fellow AoM Fans to play through an old map together and use some footage from the playthrough in a video I'm working on.
