| Is an all-dwarf archaic age for Thor *always* bad? Posted: 22 Jul 2020 11:26 AM PDT I know that all-dwarf strategy for Thor is considered bad in general. But is it always bad, even if only done in archaic age? Let's say I'm playing on Alfheim and there is very little hunt nearby, so I don't research hunting dogs. So for a very long time in the game, gatherers and dwarves have roughly the same gather rates for food and wood. Gold gathers about 1.5 times as fast as food, so dwarves are actually cheaper than villagers. On the other hand, they have slightly longer train times, but I feel that this disadvantage might be offset by going to classical quicker. (Also, you don't really have to worry about dwarves being worse at gathering food and wood in the long run, because eventually you'll need that many dwarves.) What do you think? [link] [comments] |
